Abokist is pleased this strange creature isn't actually some sort of sage or warlock. It sends the Finch to look for civilization. After a bit of flying, the finch gets tired and returns. From where it flew, it could see a large abandoned building to the west. further to the west was a great amount of light. Most likely a town. To the north s a large body of water with a tiny bit of light beyond that. There's also a human nearby. Limping slowly toward the west. *I move away from the noises and drop in altitude* You can hear the voices a bit more clearly as the humans approach. "I tell ya Joel, I sawr it! A ten point buck with antlers made of metal!" "It this another one of your 'twelve foot salmon' stories again, Bill?" "Naw! I mean it! I really saw the damn thing! Musta been six feet tall at the shoulder and it just stared at me! It was the weirdest thing! I took a shot at him but he was already gone when I pulled the trigger!" "Hogwash." "I'm Tellin' you Joel! It was real and it went this way!" "Bill. You know nothin' can survive out here. Ain't nothin' ta eat. Alls we're gonna shoot is tourists and then get sued." That's all you can make out before they move out of hearing range. *Davar quickly sprints after the rabbit* The chase is on. It takes you north. The rabbit is quick, but Davar is quicker, the only reason it's eluded you thus far is because of various obstacles such as roots or large rocks. It makes it to a road and you manage to catch it before it can cross all the way. Suddenly a car comes from the west! It stops upon catching you in it's headlights. It's too dark to tell if there is more than one person in the vehicle and the lights are shining into your eyes. The sloth growls again, angrier. A hound bursts from the bushes and approaches you, barking frantically. A human emerges from the bushes a few seconds later. "Aw shoot Ruckus, there ain't nothing gonna let me shoot it with you barkin' yer head off like-" Upon noticing you, he levels his gun at you and begins to back off slowly. The sloth glares at the human.

*The Grabber groggily wobbles around a bit, then snaps alert. It scrabbles at the ground at pushes its head against it, hissing in dissattisfaction at the hard surface, and deciding instead to swiftly scuttle after whatever just left the area.* The room is filled with tube shaped tanks similar to what the thing just broke out of. Many tubes have other strange life forms floating inside. The door leads to a staircase, which leads to a trapdoor in an office of some sort. The creature is short, maybe three feet tall and bipedal, with long arms that it uses to knuckle walk around with. It's skin is pale and it has no facial features other than a toothy vertical maw. It screeches in panic as it runs around the office desperately looking for a way out. It hasn't noticed you. It also doesn't seem to know how doors or windows work, but is sometimes leaps at the window, smacking against it, seemingly forgetting about the glass being there each time. The sloth glares at the human. The hunter breaks into a run. You could probably chase him down if you wanted. The dog runs off deeper into the woods in a different direction.

Abokist motions for the Finch to get on his soldier, and begins moving toward the human.

Abokist motions for the Finch to get on his soldier, and begins moving toward the human. The finch obediently climbs onto your shoulder. On the way, you come across the human's discarded backpack. it contains one map, one plastic baggy of granola, three plastic water bottles, two full and one empty, and one windbreaker. You hear the hiker before you see her. "Shit shit shit fucking stupid shitty snakes shit shit fuck shit" She is limping and every so often she grabs at her ankle. It's red, swollen, and bleeding a little bit. She's in no condition to resist you. The sloth rolls over and goes back to sleep. The human gets away. The dog is gone. *The Grabber does not hesitate. With the element of surprise, it lunges towards the creature with blinding speed, pincers extending and closing onto the creature even faster.* It's body is soft and boneless, despite it being able to hold a chimpanzee-like stance earlier. It is not, however, squishy enough to escape your grasp and is now completely at your mercy.

*I look around for a forest, failing that, a corpse* You spot some trees to the south as the fog lets up slightly. The hunters probably came from that direction. The sloth continues sleeping, snoring rather loudly. You dream of fantastical adventures in a land made of muffins. It's beautiful.

*IT'S DEVOURING TIME....The Grabber's pincers tear into the creature, and pull it into its mouth, grinding it apart and swallowing it* It's pretty tasty. Like chicken. If you knew what chicken tastes like. The office you are in is dusty, with papers scattered all over the floor. They were previously on the desk, but the critter knocked them off in it's struggling.

Some kind of corpse materializes in the forest and collapses on the ground. It might have held some shape once, but now it is a rubbery mass of flesh. Part of it seems turned inside-out, and others seem like they were sculpted into shapes they aren't supposed to hold. The corpse flops with a wet, squelchy thud. There is some shuddering inside the corpse, and pockets of gas seem to occasionally burst, spraying the ground with blood. It lies in a puddle of its own fluids. A thin whine can be heard, and suddenly a hole breaks open in one of the less damaged exterior parts. Bone chips and blood spray from the hole, which is maybe an inch across. A dark head emerges quickly, then dives towards the leaf litter. It is followed by a neck, perhaps half the diameter of the head. The neck doesn't stop, meters of the creature pouring out of the wound before it is finally capped with a tail. It is shiny and silent but for the sounds of puckering and shuddering meat.

If you knew what chicken tastes like. The office you are in is dusty, with papers scattered all over the floor. It might ponder why a creature would have the supernatural ability to taste like chicken regardless of compatible senses, if it actually cared enough to ponder such a thing. The Grabber then slams its head against the window to break it open, in order to climb out*
