Okay, so apparently my 'Patron' idea about religious orders that worship the RP characters was a smash hit
Post your stuff here
It would be helpful if you look into the Warhammer 40K chaos faction to understand some stuff I talk about
Elders -
While the typical grey zone religion has sainthood, 'patron' has Elders.
When a distinguished member of an order has died accomplishing heroic (for their order) tasks the will be bestowed with Elder-hood.
Their body is twisted into a monstrous form influenced by the shape of their god. With this they are given power unparalleled by their peers, except for maybe the leader.
While they keep contact with the order, and in some cases are worshipped like demi-gods. They normally live as hermits, only interacting by coming to their order's aid in times of need

GROUP NAME: The Miners Patron: Louis The louis followers are relatively peaceful, they still embrace combat, but never provoke it. Their main base is a huge mine, about the size of a small city, inside of a cave. Louis followers are mostly archers, miners, or brewers. The main cave produces hundreds of gallons of alcohol, wine, beer and liquor a day. They are friendly to outsiders, and are not too pushy about conversion. They gladly trade ores, metalworks, and alcohol for food. Their flag is two pickaxes crossed like swords, with a sword through the middle. They also make tons of metals and minerals, and will supply them to friendly war efforts or traders. They make small arms, such as pistols, but are considered holy, and only given to high ranked officers. Their rank system is shown by burning a mark above the persons left eye. Ranks: No lines = Regular citizen One line = private in the military Two lines = sergeant Three lines = Officer Four lines = Major Five lines, and a circle above the lines = General If the followers could have a national song, it would be this: m.youtube.com/watch?v=ytWz0qVvBZ0

The gob worshippers flat out like sex. they believe it brings them closer to their god, and will often make themselves into prostitutes. they also ritually kill birds, and mutilate plague doctors. their main base is lined with leather, and can be found country side, but most prostitutes seen are probably devotees to "traz the great". They are also highly violent to anyone they find offensive, and their symbol is a blue pentagram.

They have a dark secret only high ranked men know about. They have a shit ton of spies. They more or less try to know everything about everyone, so they know they can survive. The majority of the followers are humans, so they need tactical advantages.

Louis is normal. ((at least as much as you know about him.....)) Well yeah but this is more AU the cultists wouldn't really have a reason not to know Louis is the gun. It could be a secret from outsiders Maybe they can give minor animation to corpses with enchanted items

The Cordyites are a nomadic people of no single ancestry, who believe that the ultimate goal of life is to attain oneness in a vast universal hivemind, and hold Cordyceps up as the pinnacle of oneness. They consume hallucinogenic mushrooms to attain higher states of consciousness, and meditate regularly in pursuit of the hivemind ideal. They are mostly peaceful, hoping to befriend anybody they encounter, but their hallucinogenic visions have caused them to take certain objectionable actions. Sometimes they will kidnap children they believe have been selected as "worthy", and perform gruesome and medically ill-advised rites such as trepanning in an attempt to elevate the childrens' consciousness. Most don't survive. All are then inducted into the tribe.
Cordyites view Weaver as the sacred originator of life and intellect, but they fear her as a careless god. They never kill spiders because they don't want to draw her attention.
The emblem of the Cordyites is a human skull with a mushroom growing out of it. Their bodies are covered in complex, interlocking linework tattoos, which represent the hyphae of fungus. Their traditional travels take them along various secret routes unknown to other tribes, some underground, some in absolute darkness, and some quite lovely. If forced into battle, they are known to use a wide variety of poisons. They consider their society to have no rulers, but by default, the most powerful psions are in charge. With one of these present, the tribe may move and speak in eerie unison, or act on complex decisions with no visible discussion.

I guess Louis being a gun could be a religious secret. That would work. They don't spy for mutations, they spy to stay ahead tactically.

Petris - Merchant Cities of Huynk
Sigil: Several Coins being Juggled by a Jester
Colors: Red and Blue
Words: You Owe Us!
Location: Large Island off the main coast of the continent, almost entirely converted into city
Races: Massively Mixed
Practices: Grow rich, and drink deep. Always make good investments. Kill those who sour your deals.
Magic: None, but they are easily one of the most technologically advanced factions in the world. They are rumored to have black drums that shoot thunder, and their ships are dragons in disguise, spewing green flames from large pipes at their front.
Notable Members: The Head of the Cult, Jabber, who is said to be the richest man in all the kingdoms. He has existed since the early eras, and uses advanced alchemy to keep himself from aging.
Of Note: Every faction owes at least a little to the Merchant Cities of Huynk, over the long course of history. Luckily, the people of the cities are kind, for a time.
Delica - Mountain Warlords of the Ramp
Sigil: A doll's head, with scissors and knitting needles below.
Colors: Green and Yellow
Words: We are Mere Craftsmen.
Location: "The Ramp", a large stretch of mountains and hills near the North, another faction used to rule here, before they mercilessly conquered it.
Races: Humans and Dollies
Practices: Ritual removal of anything they deem "ugly." Craftsmaking. Dollification of criminals.
Magic: Can turn captives into "Dollies" via blood magic rituals. This is said to appeal to their gods, and requires ritual mutilation, castration, and torture. Once completed, the victim is an unwaveringly loyal servant, strong in both work and war. They also can bring any of their creations to life with complex rituals.
Notable Members: Diaquey, the First Dollie. An ancient warrior, and the first Dollie ever made. This huge monster was single-handedly won the final battle for the great keep of the Ramp. It is said that it has taken so many blades and arrows they no longer can hurt it. This cult does not have a head, due to the tribal nature. However, Dollies serve all tribes one in the same.
Of Note: They are planning a massive raid against the other factions, and are raiding quiet villages for new Dollies in preparation.
Eris - Raiders of the Western Shores
Sigil: An antlered head, with jagged teeth and a squid's eyes, its mouth dripping with blood.
Colors: Black and Purple
Words: All Men are Meat.
Location: Tarchikk, a peninsula on the west of the Northlands, known for the copious amounts of Iron deposits and large reefs. It is also the main home of the Squidmen.
Races: Humans, Satyrs, Nymphs, Squidmen.
Practices: Consumption of the flesh of enemies, taking women found on raids as wives, pillaging gold. However, they dare not SPEND gold. They will only use what they have made, or what they have stolen. Gold is seen as a trophy, and nothing more. They dare not eat the flesh of a squid or a stag. In order to come of age, men and women must swallow their entire stomach's worth of Salt Water.
Magic: They are one of the few species to use Chaos Magic, using this powerful energy to light water on fire, or summon Krakens and Horned Men to their aid. They are significantly skilled manipulating Water, and if a ship has a Salt-Shaman on board, it is said their ships move so fast they cannot be seen in the mist.
Notable Members: Yogsha, the Salt Queen, is the current Salt Queen of the Tarchikkian Clans, and is, as such, the only person who coudl ever unite them to actually invade the mainland. it is said she will soon come of age...

the masterwork of the gob worshippers is a giant distorted human head that pukes out mindless prostitutes, known as the factory, to be programmed by the "factory workers" people who have had their heads eplaced by large brains with eyestalks, the highest level a cultist can achieve. the "prostitutes" bring(or drag, if needed) the person to the main base, to convert them into cultists, or raw materials and food for the "factory"
