Abokist is pleased this strange creature isn't actually some sort of sage or warlock. It sends the Finch to look for civilization. After a bit of flying, the finch gets tired and returns. From where it flew, it could see a large abandoned building to the west. further to the west was a great amount of light. Most likely a town. To the north s a large body of water with a tiny bit of light beyond that. There's also a human nearby. Limping slowly toward the west. *I move away from the noises and drop in altitude* You can hear the voices a bit more clearly as the humans approach. "I tell ya Joel, I sawr it! A ten point buck with antlers made of metal!" "It this another one of your 'twelve foot salmon' stories again, Bill?" "Naw! I mean it! I really saw the damn thing! Musta been six feet tall at the shoulder and it just stared at me! It was the weirdest thing! I took a shot at him but he was already gone when I pulled the trigger!" "Hogwash." "I'm Tellin' you Joel! It was real and it went this way!" "Bill. You know nothin' can survive out here. Ain't nothin' ta eat. Alls we're gonna shoot is tourists and then get sued." That's all you can make out before they move out of hearing range. *Davar quickly sprints after the rabbit* The chase is on. It takes you north. The rabbit is quick, but Davar is quicker, the only reason it's eluded you thus far is because of various obstacles such as roots or large rocks. It makes it to a road and you manage to catch it before it can cross all the way. Suddenly a car comes from the west! It stops upon catching you in it's headlights. It's too dark to tell if there is more than one person in the vehicle and the lights are shining into your eyes. The sloth growls again, angrier. A hound bursts from the bushes and approaches you, barking frantically. A human emerges from the bushes a few seconds later. "Aw shoot Ruckus, there ain't nothing gonna let me shoot it with you barkin' yer head off like-" Upon noticing you, he levels his gun at you and begins to back off slowly. *Davar stays still. His claws begin to glow gold, and he tries to make the driver more comfortable with exiting the car to investigate*

You spot some trees to the south as the fog lets up slightly. The hunters probably came from that direction. You dream of fantastical adventures in a land made of muffins. It's beautiful.*I go south* Sure enough, you find the two hunter's camp. There is a cooler that smells absolutely horrible. Or it would to anything with a sense of smell that thinks raw venison that's been in a box all day smells horrible. You spot some trees to the south as the fog lets up slightly. The hunters probably came from that direction. You dream of fantastical adventures in a land made of muffins. It's beautiful. The sloth wakes up feeling hungry, it slowly trudges around, looking for food. There is a bush full of berries nearby. These berries are not native to the location and should not be able to grow here... Some kind of corpse materializes in the forest and collapses on the ground. It might have held some shape once, but now it is a rubbery mass of flesh. Part of it seems turned inside-out, and others seem like they were sculpted into shapes they aren't supposed to hold. The corpse flops with a wet, squelchy thud. There is some shuddering inside the corpse, and pockets of gas seem to occasionally burst, spraying the ground with blood. It lies in a puddle of its own fluids. A thin whine can be heard, and suddenly a hole breaks open in one of the less damaged exterior parts. Bone chips and blood spray from the hole, which is maybe an inch across. A dark head emerges quickly, then dives towards the leaf litter. It is followed by a neck, perhaps half the diameter of the head. The neck doesn't stop, meters of the creature pouring out of the wound before it is finally capped with a tail. It is shiny and silent but for the sounds of puckering and shuddering meat. There are two humans searching for something around the perimeter of the Deadlands. One of them steps near you and stops, seemingly oblivious of your presence. "Bill. You're fulla shit. I'm going home." Says the human farthest from you, as he walks back the way he came. "Fine Joel! I'll find that damn buck myself! I'll find it and shoot it and get famous and hang those metal antlers on my wall!" Stammers the human closest to you. The other human has already left. It's pretty tasty. Like chicken. If you knew what chicken tastes like. The office you are in is dusty, with papers scattered all over the floor. They were previously on the desk, but the critter knocked them off in it's struggling. *The Grabber is confused by this, as it usually cannot taste anything. It might ponder why a creature would have the supernatural ability to taste like chicken regardless of compatible senses, if it actually cared enough to ponder such a thing. The Grabber then slams its head against the window to break it open, in order to climb out* You know what I meant, goddammit. You are now outside of the Asylum on the west side. There is a rusty chain link fence running the length of the property. It is topped with razor wire. To the west you can see a dim light in the distance. The Warin wakes up in it's pod. It looks around for any small organisms. There's a squirrel in a nearby tree. it looks at the pod with hesitant curiosity.

*Davar stays still. His claws begin to glow gold, and he tries to make the driver more comfortable with exiting the car to investigate* After a few minutes, the door on the driver's side opens up. You can hear a voice come from inside the car as it opens. as the door opens, you see a light come on inside and a woman in the passenger's seat. "Mike! What are you doing?! It could be rabid!" She says. "Relax, Jess, It's just a big mutt. Looks like one of those german shepherd/husky mixes. Those can get pretty big you know." "This doesn't feel right. You should really get back in." "What's the worst that could happen? It's probably more afraid of me than you are of it. I just gotta move him off the road. Somehow..." The man slowly approaches.

The sloth sniffs the berries. The berries sneeze. That can't be right. *Davar's claws keep glowing. He slowly backs away, towards the other side of the car. He now tries to get the other passenger to be a bit less afraid. "Ok... I don't like the way it's looking at me though... Can't you just... I don't know... Move that roadkill out of the way so he moves?" "Alright. good plan. We got a bag or something I can cover my hand with?" "Yeah, right here" The woman reaches into a pocket in the side of the vehicle's door and produces a plastic bag, the type typically used in supermarkets. The man goes back to the car and takes the bag, wrapping it around his hand like a glove. He slowly approaches the rabbit. *The Grabber clambers up the fence, their cuticle allowing them to ignore the razor wire. Be a cryptid! Terrorize a small mountain town! Don't die! Fun! Anyhoo, for more information, check out the Planning thread. Here is an updated map, should you need it. Here is a basic start for each faction: Naturals: You awaken in your chosen lair, groggy and agitated. Something put you into a sort of hibernation for a few weeks. For a brief moment, there is an uneasy feeling coming from the east. You are hungry. Created: You become conscious. You are in a dark room filled with strange devices and cells and great tanks filled with liquid. The door to your own cell opens, fresh air rushing into it. You hear a crash as one of the tanks shatters, glass and fluids spilling onto the floor. something scurries out and and exits the room through an open door at the far end. Aliens: You don't know how it happened or when, but you were abducted. Now you awaken inside of a red pod of some sort. It opens easily, the cover sliding off like a coffin. This new world is strange. It is cold and snowing, the coniferous trees all around already coated in the snow. You feel you're on a slope. Others emerge from their pods and go their own ways. Otherworlders: You feel a strange tugging. That's all the warning you get before you are violently thrown like a leaf in the wake of a speedboat from your home into this bizarre new place with different laws and physics than you are used to. The ground is grey and the trees are dead and petrified. There is a thick mist permeating the area, but you can see red wavy auroras in the night sky. There is a massive red... thing towering above. It must be at least a hundred feet tall. You find it oddly hard to keep your focus on it. the sphere lizard pokes its head out of its burrow and then pulls itself out tasting the air with the hairs on its sphere to get a sense of whats going on, primarily looking for food it makes a snuffling noise and heads towards any tasty scents

There is a hive in a nearby tree. They seem fairly inactive, considering how late it is. The sloth grunts and walks away. The 'berries' fly off in the other direction. *.....The Grabber lunges at the cat and devours it. Sorry kitty.* It tastes like cat. Beyond the wall, you see a garden. There's a house there. The lights are off. There is a swingset and a doghouse. Other than that, it's a fairly normal back yard. Looking around, you see other houses and yards, separated by various fences. The Warin tries to make itself look as appetizing as possible The squirrel is not interested. What an ass. A nearby cardinal, however, is. It swoops down and attempts to eat you.
